Lima’s Recovery Relief for Astros

Jose Lima recovered from a shaky start to win his second consecutive outing and Derek Bell and Sean Berry hit home runs at San Francisco, where the Houston Astros defeated the Giants, 6-3, Wednesday night.
Lima (2-0), in his second start of the season after pitching in the Houston bullpen for all but one game last year, gave up three runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings while striking out five and walking three. Lima led Houston relievers in innings pitched last season (73) and ranked fourth on the staff in appearances (52).
Billy Wagner struck out Charlie Hayes with two runners on for his second save.
Bell, who was three for five, drove in three runs and Berry connected for a three-run homer. Craig Biggio went three for five with a double and a run scored.
Kirk Rueter (1-1) took the loss, giving up six runs on 10 hits in 6 2-3 innings.
