A 28-year-old San Clemente man was killed and three other people injured in an early morning crash at a Huntington Beach intersection, police said Sunday.
Darren Damico suffered fatal injuries in the 12:12 a.m. crash at Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue, Huntington Beach Lt. Dan Johnson said. Damico was a passenger in a northbound Acura Integra that was broadsided by a Ford Expedition driven by a 16-year-old Westminster girl, Johnson said.
A preliminary investigation suggests the westbound Ford Expedition ran a red light, but no one was cited at the scene, Johnson said.
The driver of the Acura, identified as Beth Salen, 26, of Upland, suffered head and internal injuries and had not regained consciousness Sunday morning at UCI Medical Center in Orange, Johnson said.
The driver and a male passenger in the Expedition were treated for minor injuries, Johnson said.
