Burbank Just Can’t Stop Friedrichsen

Matt Friedrichsen continued his pick-on-Burbank week Friday with a grand slam, a run-scoring double and a run-scoring single in Hart High’s 12-2 Foothill League baseball victory that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
On Tuesday, Friedrichsen hit three home runs and drove in 10 runs in a 17-2 victory over Burbank (4-8, 2-6 in league play).
Jeff Gaeta hit three doubles, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Indians (18-3, 7-2).
Jesse Perez and James Meza hit home runs for Burbank.
Camarillo 20, Simi Valley 11--Garrett Valencia had three hits and drove in six runs and Joe Yingling added four hits and four RBIs for the Scorpions (16-3, 6-1) in a Marmonte League victory at Simi Valley.
Valencia’s two-run homer gave the Scorpions a 6-5 lead during an 11-run fourth.
Scott Vermette hit two home runs for Simi Valley (10-8, 3-4).
Royal 14, Newbury Park 4--Brian Lipman had three hits, including a solo home run, and drove in four runs for the Highlanders in a Marmonte League victory at Newbury Park (9-9, 2-6).
Bobby Egan also had three hits and two RBIs for the Highlanders (13-4, 6-1).
Crespi 3, Chaminade 1--Andy Campanella’s two-run single in the fifth inning gave the Celts (17-4-1, 8-0) a Mission League victory at Valley College.
Campanella’s single was the only hit allowed by Brian Kirby, who was victimized by three unearned runs.
Tim Leveque (6-0) pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for Crespi.
Crescenta Valley 12, Glendale 3--Nathan Barber hit a two-run home run, a run-scoring double and a run-scoring single for the Falcons (15-2-1, 7-1-1) in a Pacific League game at Glendale.
Ryan Noll and Keith Zavala hit home runs for Glendale (6-11-1, 4-4-1).
Rio Mesa 15, San Marcos 5--The Spartans scored eight runs in the first inning of a Channel League game at Rio Mesa (15-4, 7-1).
Richard Martinez hit two two-run doubles in the first inning. Martinez had three hits and drove in five runs.
Highland 8, Lancaster 7--Isaac Campos’ two-run double in the seventh gave the Bulldogs a Golden League victory after the Eagles led, 7-0, after five innings at Lancaster.
Highland (10-8, 5-3) scored six runs in the sixth inning, when Traviss Hodge hit a two-run home run and Brandon Golphenee hit a solo home run.
Moorpark 10, Calabasas 7--Wes Rasmussen drove in three runs and pitched four innings in a Frontier League victory at Calabasas.
Rasmussen (4-1) struck out three and allowed three hits before leaving with a 5-2 lead.
Rasmussen hit a run-scoring double in a four-run first inning for Moorpark (13-6, 7-2). Rasmussen had a solo home run in the third and a run-scoring double in the sixth.
Harvard-Westlake 10, Alemany 3--Adam Siegel (3-2) scattered eight hits, struck out five and walked none in five innings, and had two hits, including a grand slam for the Wolverines in a Mission League game at Alemany (1-18, 0-8).
Trevor Swanberg hit a solo homer for Harvard-Westlake (11-8, 3-3).
St. Francis 4, Notre Dame 1--Jim Hemming had a run-scoring double for the Golden Knights (9-7-1, 5-3) in a Mission League game at Notre Dame (11-8-1, 3-2-1).
Palmdale 13, Quartz Hill 6--Chris Testa had three hits, including a three-run home run, and four RBIs for the Falcons (14-4, 9-0) in a Golden League game at Palmdale.
Saugus 6, Canyon 0--Travis Ivey hit a three-run home run and Justin Babin had a two-run double in a five-run first inning for the Centurions (8-11, 5-4) in a Foothill League game at Saugus.
Santa Barbara 7, Oxnard 1--The Dons scored four runs in the fifth on three hits and three errors in a Channel League game at Santa Barbara.
Valencia 8, Burroughs 4--Ryan Coe hit two home runs and pitched six innings for the Vikings (13-7, 5-4) in a Foothill League game at Valencia.
Coe (3-0) allowed four runs on seven hits, striking out seven.
Coe’s solo home run in the fifth inning tied the score, 3-3, and his three-run shot in the sixth gave Valencia a 6-4 lead.
Tommy Perez had two hits for Burroughs (11-9, 5-3).
Fillmore 6, St. Bonaventure 1--Isaac Oseguera had three hits and two RBIs for the Flashes (11-2, 7-0) in a Tri-Valley League game at Fillmore.
Poly 12, Canoga Park 2--Juan Guerrero had two hits, including a three-run triple in a five-run first inning for the Parrots in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Poly.
Carlos Reguengo (5-2) and Angel Espindola combined on a four-hitter for the Parrots.
Antelope Valley 6, Littlerock 5--Carlos Rosales’ run-scoring single in the fifth inning gave the Antelopes (8-10, 5-3) a Golden League victory at Antelope Valley.
