New Toll-Free Fax for Travel Health

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a new toll-free number for travelers to get faxed health information: (888) 232-3299. Health risks in specific regions and countries, recent disease outbreak bulletins and cruise ship sanitation scores are among more than 60 available documents. Voice messages on general topics--and the same fax service--are available through another toll-free number, (888) 232-3228, but the recorded menu can be complex and tedious. Another source is the CDC Web site, https://www.cdc.gov (choose “Travelers’ Health”).
