Power Failure Caused by Hawk

A hawk that flew into a power line early Saturday caused a temporary loss of power for several thousand Southern California Edison customers, a spokesman said.
About 2,000 homes and businesses were without power for 30 seconds and one business went 11 hours with no electricity about 3:40 a.m., the spokesman said.
A second 30-second power surge was reported just before 10 a.m. when Edison employees were testing the lines.
