Pampered on Amtrak

Kudos to Amtrak West and their improved customer service.

We recently brought my mother-in-law, who is handicapped with arthritis, up from San Diego to Glendale by train and purchased a custom-class seat for her. Several years ago, she had done the same thing and was not impressed due to apathy of the attendants and lack of service.

This trip was completely different. The Amtrak personnel waited on her hand and foot from when she got ready to board in San Diego until they assisted her off the train with her luggage in Glendale. On the trip, she was made to feel comfortable and given snacks whenever she wanted them.
