Universal Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it has named Camille Jayne as chief executive officer.
Jayne, 45, succeeds David M. Gabrielsen, who has been with the Cypress-based maker of remote controls since 1994. Gabrielsen, 41, will retain his position as chairman.
Jayne has been with the company since February as president and chief operating officer. Prior to that, she was chief executive of the Jayne Group, a Northern California consulting firm specializing in digital cable-television products and services.
Universal Electronics also announced Wednesday that Roger T. Monaco, 49, has been named chief financial officer, succeeding Paul D. Arling, who resigned. Arling, 35, will remain on the board.
Monaco has been chief financial officer at two Orange County companies, Access Television and Bristol Retail Solutions. Before that, he was vice president of corporate planning and financial analysis for the cable division of Times Mirror Co.
Arling said Wednesday that the management shifts have been anticipated since the company moved its headquarters to Cypress from Ohio in December. He and Gabrielsen live in Cleveland, and had planned to return to Ohio after helping in the transition, Arling said.
