More than 70 children are expected to participate in the third annual West Hollywood Summer Games today, officials said.
Children ages 5 to 14 will compete in events such as the 50-yard dash, an obstacle course, and freestyle and backstroke swimming competitions, said recreation leader Eugene Kaplansky.
The event will begin with an Olympics-style ceremony that will parade through West Hollywood Park with flags created by children.
The games will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at West Hollywood Park and swimming pool, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd.
