SYLMAR — A 16-year-old known gang member was ordered to stand trial as an adult for allegedly raping a 15-year-old Saugus High schoolmate in the campus photo lab, authorities said Thursday.
The defendant, whose name is being withheld until he is officially charged with the crimes in adult court, allegedly grabbed the girl and pulled her into a storage area when the two were alone at about 10 a.m. on May 27. The girl cried for help but no one heard her and immediately reported the incident after being released, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office said.
He is accused of rape, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
Authorities said the teen was on parole for earlier crimes when he was arrested at the school shortly after the attack.
