SCC No Match for Northridge
Rico Harris, Brian Heinle, Derrick Higgins and Carl Holmes combined to score the first 16 points as host Cal State Northridge beat Southern California College, 92-50.
Although it came at the expense of an overmatched NAIA opponent, the victory was a landmark one for Northridge. The only other time the Matadors (3-2) have been over .500 since joining Division I in 1989 was after a season-opening victory.
SCC committed 28 turnovers. The lead was 43-13 with 2 minutes 40 seconds to play in the first half when Coach Bobby Braswell called off Northridge’s press.
