It was the first Division I tournament title for Northridge (5-2), which had defeated host Hawaii, 89-79, on Thursday behind Heinle’s 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Against Coppin State (1-5), Heinle did most of his work in the first half, scoring 12 points during a 17-4 run that gave the Matadors a 26-14 edge.
