Re “In Search of Holiday Style--Bikers and All,” Nov. 26.
In this article, columnist Wendy Miller stated, “What is left that really screams Ventura County at us? Bikers.”
Bikers and their lifestyle, even law-abiding bikers, do not define the character of Ventura County any more than they do in any other county. Ms. Miller’s choice of interviewing George Christie, president of the Ventura Hells Angels, as a representative of bikers reveals a deep naivete on her part. Christie no more reflects the moral fiber and good citizenship of Ventura County than does any other member of his predatory outlaw motorcycle gang.
