Crime Data Show Need to Curb Guns
* Your Nov. 24 report on crime rates had both good and bad news.
Good in that the overall rate is reportedly down. But the bad news is that in nine Orange County cities and the unincorporated area, homicides were double or greater than in the previous year.
And in only one city, Santa Ana, the number of homicides was about equal to the number of deaths by firearm in Great Britain!
Another single city, Anaheim, had the same number of [gun] deaths as did all of Japan.
It is far past time to get serious about reducing gun deaths. Why should we be trying to reduce crime, while continuing to allow millions of guns to flood the country?
