Applicants Sought for Goebel Board
People interested in recommending activities and creating programs for the Goebel Senior Adult Center are encouraged to become commissioners for the 15-member board.
Five slots will be open as of July 1, and the terms run for three years.
Anyone 55 or older who lives within the boundaries of the Conejo Recreation and Park District may apply. Commission meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the center, 1385 E. Janss Road.
Typically, commissioners establish policies that benefit the center’s participants, conduct surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the center’s programs and recommend future activities and equipment needed for the center.
Applicants should submit their name, address, phone number and any other pertinent information to the district general manager’s office at 155 E. Wilbur Road, Thousand Oaks 91360, by 5 p.m. Feb. 6.
In March, the Goebel commission will recommend its nominees to the park district board for final confirmation.
For information, call the park district at 495-6471.
