Attorney Praised for Work With Elderly
Attorney Donna Bashaw, a specialist in elder law, has been awarded the California Women Lawyer’s 1997 Fay Stender Award for her work in promoting grandparents’ rights.
Bashaw founded the Orange County Bar Assn.’s Grandparent Guardianship Program in 1995, which helps grandparents seek custody of children, often in broken-home situations.
The program helps older couples through filing for guardianship and court battles.
She also volunteers for the Public Law Center and SHORTSTOP, an Orange County program for juvenile offenders.
