Magnolia’s Bennem Commits to UCI

Zamiro Bennem, a 6-foot-3-inch point guard, has orally committed to UC Irvine, Magnolia boys’ basketball Coach Al Walin said Monday.

Bennem, a left-hander, is averaging 21.7 points and 4.8 assists for the Sentinels (15-3). He had 34 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in Magnolia’s 79-70 Orange League victory over then third-ranked Brea Olinda.

Bennem informed Irvine Coach Pat Douglass of his decision Sunday evening, Walin said.
