VENTURA — At least two people were hurt in a pair of accidents that backed up traffic for about an hour Wednesday evening on the southbound Ventura Freeway.
Details were sketchy but California Highway Patrol officials said the first accident occurred about 7 p.m. when a vehicle and motorcycle crashed on the freeway between Telephone Road and the California 126 interchange. One person was trapped before being rescued by city firefighters.
Traffic backed up by the accident contributed to the second crash, but there were no further details, authorities said. At least two people, including a woman suspected of drunk driving, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the Ventura Fire Department said.
