Lake Casitas Fair Revives the Renaissance
- Share via
From quirky court jesters to gruff pirates, characters in 16th century garb roamed the banks of Lake Casitas at the eighth annual Ojai Renaissance Faire on Sunday.
The event re-created an English country village circa 1500, the heart of the era of revival in European art and literature that marked the transition between medieval and modern times.
Jugglers, magicians and storytellers entertained the crowd of about 300 as vendors tried to sell everything from grog (beer) to talismans.
