A 49-year-old businesswoman who confronted a man stealing her vehicle in the parking lot outside her east Ventura business escaped with cuts and bruises, but failed to stop the carjacker, police said Thursday.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Wednesday as Marilyn McChristian was closing her business in a shopping center at Victoria Avenue and Telephone Road.
McChristian saw the man in her vehicle, but when she tried to stop him, he sped off in the car, knocking her over, police said.
Officers had found neither a suspect nor the vehicle Thursday afternoon. Firefighters treated McChristian at the scene for scrapes and bruises.
