* Foothill at Canyon, 3 today: Canyon routed Foothill Thursday and leads the Knights by a game in the Century League. Canyon’s Tommy Duarte has nine home runs and 27 runs batted in. A key to Foothill’s success has been right-hander Peter Kazanjy (4-0, 2.22 earned-run average).

* El Dorado vs. Katella, Boysen Park, 3 today: El Dorado and Katella are 1-2 in Empire League play, but Loara and Cypress are still in the race. Mike Martinez (.431, four homers, 29 RBIs) anchors Katella’s offense. C.J. Rice (.473, five homers, 21 RBIs) does the same for El Dorado.

* Esperanza at Marina, 3 today: Esperanza, the defending Sunset and Southern Section Division I champions, sits atop the county’s tightest league race--3 1/2 games separate first place from last. Marina is battling Edison for third place and an automatic playoff bid. Right-hander Bo Ashabraner (4-2, 2.78) has been steady for Esperanza.
