ABOUT THE FORUM
The Times invited the four major candidates for governor to address the most important challenges facing California. The 90-minute forum in the newspaper’s downtown Harry Chandler Auditorium was held 20 days before the state’s first blanket primary June 2, in which voters will be able to cast ballots for candidates from any party.
Each candidate gave a brief opening statement and then responded to questions posed by the forum’s moderators, Janet Clayton, editor of The Times’ Editorial pages, and George Skelton, The Times’ political columnist. Each candidate also delivered a brief closing statement.
Complete transcripts of the forum, in English and Spanish, can be found on The Times’ website at:

Audio and video of the forum also will be available at that site through election day.
