Eighty inner-city students will get private lessons from local artists Sunday at the Bergamot Station.
The event, co-sponsored by the nonprofit organizations I Have a Dream Foundation and Gen Art, will rotate the students between different art stations to write, dance, play music and paint, said Lori Jaramillo, director of student affairs for the I Have a Dream Foundation.
“Our purpose is to expose inner-city kids to a variety of art and to show them that art can be a positive outlet for their emotions,” she said.”
The event is from noon to 5 p.m. at the Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Ave. It is open to the public.
