White Cap Industries Inc.: The Costa Mesa provider of construction tools and materials reported that fourth-quarter net income rose 40.9% to $741,000, or 7 cents a share, from $526,000 a year earlier. Revenue totaled $50.4 million, up 63% from $30.9 million. For the year, White Cap posted a net loss of $3.2 million, or 64 cents a share, including a charge of $6 million. The company did not give a reason for the charge.
The company earned $2.8 million the previous year. Revenue climbed 83.3% to $186.7 million from $101.8 million.
White Cap completed its initial public stock offering in October.
