Sparked by a new coach and by two goals by forward Ali Daei, Iran beat UEFA Cup champion Internazionale of Milan, 4-1, Saturday in a soccer exhibition game in Como, Italy.
In its first game since Jalal Talebi replaced Tomislav Ivic as coach on Wednesday, Iran fell behind when Uruguayan forward Alvaro Recoba scored in the 41st minute.
Kian tied the score in the 71st minute, Daei--newly signed by Bayern Munich--scored twice in a three-minute span and Karim Bagheri connected with one minute remaining.
Inter, which finished second in the Italian League, was missing many key players who are with their national teams. Iran, which lost to AS Roma, 7-1, on Tuesday, plays the United States in the first round of the World Cup June 21.
In other exhibition games:
* Freddy Rincon tapped in a ball that ricocheted off both posts with 11 minutes remaining Saturday night, giving Colombia a 2-2 tie against Scotland in East Rutherford, N.J.
Faustino Asprilla split the defense and came in unmarked against goalkeeper Neil Sullivan. His shot struck both posts before Rincon knocked it in.
* England captain Alan Shearer missed an easy chance to score and Saudi Arabia celebrated its first visit to Wembley Stadium in London with a scoreless tie.
The Saudis created enough opportunities to make it an uncomfortable time for the English defense in front of 63,700 fans.
* Mexico survived early pressure and played a scoreless tie against Ireland in Dublin. Robbie Keane, a 17-year-old forward, forced goalkeeper Jorge Campos to make a good save with a 12-yard shot.
