FOOTBALL
Palmdale High quarterback Johnathan Thompson was told by doctors Saturday he will miss at least three weeks with a broken collarbone. The senior was injured Friday in a loss to Littlerock.
VOLLEYBALL
Harvard-Westlake High volleyball player William Curtis has committed to Stanford. Curtis, a 6-foot-6 middle blocker, is the second Wolverine to commit to the Cardinal this week, joining 6-9 outside hitter Billy Strickland.
BASKETBALL
Craig Calloway, a 6-foot guard from Long Beach Jordan High, has committed to attend Cal State Northridge.
DISTANCE RUNNING
Five hundred and fifty runners are expected to take part in the Santa Clarita Marathon, which starts today at 7 a.m.
The race will begin at Lang Station, weave past the California Institute of the Arts and through College of the Canyons and Six Flags Magic Mountain before finishing at Valencia Town Center.
