Two of the city’s most important commissions have new members. City Council members unanimously approved the appointment of Melissa Carr to the Planning Commission this week. They also appointed Barbara Becker and Greg Leach to the Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission.
Carr, who also sits on the Parks and Recreation Commission, is an attorney who specializes in wrongful termination cases. She replaces commissioner Jack McDonnell, who resigned because of conflicts with his work schedule.
Becker, who retired from a career with Pacific Bell, will fill a term ending in 2000.
Leach holds a master’s degree in fine arts and teaches at Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton. His term will end in 2001.
