Moorpark 17, Southwest 7--The Raiders clinched a tie for the Southern Division title in the WSC game at Moorpark College.
The Raiders, seeking their 11th consecutive bowl appearance, can win the title outright with a victory over Valley next week.
After a scoreless first quarter, Southwest (5-4, 3-3) took a 7-0 lead when Hassayn Bailey threw a 10-yard pass to Travis Jackson with 13:00 left in the first half.
Moorpark (8-1, 6-0) responded on its next possession, driving 69 yards in 13 plays, capped by Carl Richardson’s three-yard run.
Richardson rushed for 127 yards in 30 carries for Moorpark, which won its eighth consecutive game.
The Raiders took the lead on a 28-yard field goal by Geoffrey Marcus on the first possession of the second half.
After a fumble recovery by Joseph Baik, the Raiders extended their lead on the first play of the fourth quarter when Spencer threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Ross Randolph. Spencer completed eight of 11 for 92 yards.
