To Taylor, Injuries Are the Problem

Although he is in charge of a team that has lost four in a row and is winless in its last seven games at home, Dave Taylor, the Kings’ vice president and general manager, said he is feeling no pressure to make a trade for a scorer.
In fact, “I like our team,” Taylor said before Monday’s game. “I think we have a good team. We lost two goaltenders [Stephane Fiset and Jamie Storr] and lost Rob Blake and Doug Bodger. I think in the next two weeks or so we’ll get some of them back and we’ll be better.”
What would help, Taylor said, is a power-play goal or two.
The Kings’ powerless streak continued to 0 for their last 26 man-advantages before being snapped by Olli Jokinen’s goal at 16:14 of the third period.

Glen Murray played the point on the power play after spending all season at a wing on the specialty team. . . . Jozef Stumpel suffered an ankle sprain in the first period. X-rays were negative. He is listed as day to day.
