California Amplifier to Make Globalstar Antennas

California Amplifier Inc. in Camarillo has signed a $2-million purchase agreement with Ericsson OMC to supply antenna assemblies for the Globalstar satellite communication system.
Shipment of the order will begin early next year.
The Globalstar system is designed to provide voice, data, fax and other telecommunications services to users worldwide.
California Amplifier designs and manufactures amplifiers, down-converters, antennas and integrated products to receive microwave signals for broadband communications.
Ericsson OMC Limited is a member of L.M. Ericsson of Sweden, a telecommunications group. The company designs and manufactures mobile phones for digital cellular and satellite networks.
Based in San Jose, Globalstar is a limited partnership company formed in 1991 by a consortium of telecommunications companies to develop, launch and operate the Globalstar communications system.
