ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

CoCensys Inc.: The Irvine developer of products for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders reported a net loss of $4.8 million, or 24 cents a share, for the third quarter, compared with a net loss of $6.6 million, or 29 cents a share, for the comparable period last year. Revenue fell to $325,000 from $951,000. The company said it had no co-promotion revenue in the third quarter of 1998 because it sold its sales and marketing force in October 1997. For the 1997 third quarter, co-promotion revenue totaled $861,000.
