The fast-growing Corner Bakery chain will bring its collection of baguettes and other baked goods to the San Fernando Valley on Nov. 12, when it opens at The Commons in Calabasas. It will be the chain’s first California restaurant outside of Orange County.
Launched in Chicago in 1991, the chain, known for its fresh-baked items and moderate prices, arrived on the West Coast in November 1997 when it opened adjacent to Maggiano’s restaurant in the South Coast Plaza.
Of the five California locations, four are in Orange County.
The chain, part of the Dallas-based casual-restaurant giant Brinker International, has 38 locations nationwide.
The 148-seat restaurant in Calabasas, with indoor and outdoor seating, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
