RVL Inc. Acquires F.G. Montabert, Subsidiary

RVL Inc., Westlake Village, which designs and markets apparel packaging including woven, leather and printed tags, has acquired F.G. Montabert and its subsidiary based in Hong Kong, Universal Packaging & Design Ltd.
The terms of the cash sale were not disclosed. The 100-year-old F.G. Montabert company, which produces woven labels, had sales of $34 million in 1998.
RVL said the acquisition will allow it to expand into more countries where apparel is produced, cutting tariff and duty costs. RVL Inc.’s clients include Wal-Mart, Kmart, Nike, Levi Strauss and the Gap.
