The city has completed its $41,000 renovation of the Jaycee Parkette, at Kansas Avenue and Iowa Place, to improve wheelchair access. The half-acre park now has a rubberized surface, a new drinking fountain and climbing equipment. The project was approved several months ago by the Recreation and Parks Commission, and was funded with state grants and park development funds. Although the park is open now, a grand reopening will be scheduled shortly.
