Marla Maples I.D.s Her Shoes at Trial
Marla Maples, the estranged wife of real estate mogul Donald Trump, spent nearly an hour in court in New York identifying 75 shoes that her former publicist is accused of stealing. Chuck Jones, 56, Maples’ press agent before she married Trump in 1993, is being retried on charges of burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and illegal weapons possession. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison. His original conviction was overturned on a technicality in 1996, after he had served a year of a sentence of 18 to 54 months. At his 1994 trial, Jones admitted to having a fetish for Maples’ shoes.
