The City Council denied a claim made by a man who said that police used excessive force against him when he was arrested in February. Mai Dang was arrested after allegedly urinating on the Police Department’s front door. Police said that Dang urinated on Police Department property after he had been discharged from jail on a drunk-driving charge.
When police tried to arrest Dang, he allegedly fought back. Police said he hurt an officer’s neck and throat during the fight. Dang’s chin was injured.
