Orange County property owners have until Friday to pay the first installment on property taxes--or face a late charge.
Taxpayers who prefer to pay in person can visit the Tax Collector’s Public Information Office in the Hall of Finance and Records, 12 Civic Center Plaza, Room G-58. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which will be extended to 6 p.m. on Friday.
Last-minute taxpayers also have the option of mailing their taxes up until 11 p.m. Friday, said John M.W. Moorlach, the county treasurer-tax collector.
“We now have a working relationship with the U.S. Postmaster of Orange County that provides taxpayers with the ability to mail their payments up to 11 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the Main Branch on Sunflower and Fairview in Costa Mesa,” he said.
