Gov. Davis

I see that Gov. Gray Davis is patting himself on the back for his first year (Dec. 23). I have a very different assessment of his first year. It is interesting that on page A22 of the same paper we find that his handpicked parole board made at least one paralyzed prisoner crawl up the stairs to his hearing. This must be his idea of getting “tough” on crime.
I voted for Davis to get rid of a right-wing egomaniac in the governor’s office. Judging from many of his actions this first year, I didn’t get much for my vote.

How naive can people be? A letter writer (Dec. 16) advocates breaking up the LAUSD to avoid multiple bureaucracies.
How many bureaucracies, plus elected political boards, does he think we will have when San Pedro, Lomita, Gardena, Carson, Van Nuys, Northridge, etc. decide to have their own districts?
