SANTA ANA

City traffic officers will receive laptop computers under a plan approved recently by the City Council. The office of California Traffic Safety awarded Santa Ana a $680,000 grant for a traffic offender program. Part of that money--about $30,000--will be used to purchase the laptops, which will allow officers to complete reports in the field and communicate with the Dispatch Communication Center. Information: (714) 647-5200.
