Re “Plan to Ban Cheap Handguns Revived,” Jan. 21.
In Zev Yaroslavsky’s latest attempt to get his name in the paper for crime prevention, he’s going after the ever-evasive Saturday night special. . . . This latest attempt to lump weapons into a vague category will surely be legally opposed by the National Rifle Assn.
Instead of chasing ghosts and spending our money to defend it in the courts, why don’t these crime fighters concentrate on getting enough police officers on the street to enforce the hundreds of gun laws we already have?
