Villa Park High School’s Chamber Singers will make a once-in-a-lifetime performance in March at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The young singers, under the direction of school choral director Mary Ester Blakley, will be in New York City from March 24 to 29 and will perform March 28 under the direction of Anton Armstrong, an internationally known choral director.
The students will attend a Broadway show and tour the city. The cost for each student is $1,000, but scholarships are available. The group has held fund-raisers and received donations, Blakley said. Orange Unified School District trustees approved the study trip last week.
