Lauryn Hill’s first solo tour earlier this year extended the hip-hop diva’s rule from records to the stage, and now she’s taking it from mid-size theaters to arena level.

And they’re off! Again! The 60th season of horse racing at Del Mar begins today and the ponies will keep running until Sept. 8. Be sure to wear a hat on opening day--not just to keep the sun off your head but to enter the “One and Only Truly Fabulous Hats Contest.” There’s more than just gambling to lure you, too: jazz every Wednesday, family fun days each weekend, and regular handicapping seminars.
