MISSION VIEJO

The city is putting the finishing touches on its skateboard park--the first in South County--and plans to open it next month. The facility, in Beebe Park off Olympiad Road, should open by the middle of August, said Kelly Doyle, director of recreation and community services. The park was designed for beginning and intermediate skaters and will include bowls, quarter pipes, rails and a variety of other challenges, Doyle said.

Because the facility will not be supervised, Doyle said the city is relying on those who use it to not abuse the privilege.
