OXNARD — A 23-year-old Oxnard woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing five pounds of methamphetamine that police valued at about $230,000, authorities said Wednesday.
Anjanette Pena was in county jail Wednesday night on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale, a deputy said. Her bail was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled for arraignment today.
Pena was taken into custody Tuesday night when she went to the Oxnard Police Station after finding a detective’s business card that was left for her at her home earlier that day, Oxnard Police Det. Neail Holland said.
Oxnard officers and state parole agents armed with a search warrant went into Pena’s apartment in the 2900 block of Albany Drive looking for her roommate, Ivan Stine, who is wanted for violating his parole, Holland said.
Stine, a 26-year-old Ventura Avenue gang member, served time in state prison for assault with a deadly weapon, Holland said.
When authorities arrived at the apartment about 2 p.m. Tuesday, no one was home, but during their search, officers found several large duffel bags containing plastic-wrapped bundles of methamphetamine, Holland said.
Also confiscated was a half-pound of marijuana valued at nearly $7,800, two guns and $3,300 in cash, Holland said.
Stine could face drug charges when he is found, authorities said.
