Fresh Voice Should Have Its Place in L.A.

Rather than criticize KTLA-TV for hiring Claudia Trejos as its new weekend sports anchor, the station should be praised for being bold enough to stray from the cookie-cutter sports anchors that we have in Los Angeles, most of whom are more concerned about cracking jokes and working on their production deals and other side jobs than they are about their reporting.
The faces and voices of professional sports--and of this city--are changing, and those that don’t change with it will be left behind.
Trejos may not speak the King’s English, but how refreshing it is to hear the names of Latino athletes pronounced properly.
