Cypress Park

“Slaying Still Haunts Cypress Park” (July 18) made my community of Cypress Park sound as though it was still a crime-ridden community that cannot recover from the shooting of Stephanie Kuhen. On July 14, a community meeting was held regarding job opportunities at Taylor Yard for local residents sponsored by Legacy Partners Inc. and Councilman Mike Hernandez. I was very pleased with what was said. Moreover, I am pleased with the positive changes that have been going on in the community for the past several years, the drop in crime, the development and creation of job opportunities for residents and the overall positive morale of the community.
If Cypress Park is such a bad place to live, why would Legacy Partners be willing to invest $80 million in our community?
