Tustin Unified has the most finalists among the four school districts participating in the 1999 Spectrum Leadership Awards, a scholarship program sponsored by the Irvine Co. Corie Rosen, a Foothill High senior, and My Le Nguyen and Michael Yang, Tustin High seniors, have been selected as semifinalists and finalists in the 13th annual awards program. Also, Foothill High senior Michael Schmidt was named a school winner. Each student has at least a 3.0 grade-point average and volunteers for numerous groups. School winners each receive $1,000, semifinalists win $2,000 and finalists earn $3,000.
Other districts participating are Irvine, Laguna Beach and Newport-Mesa. From the program’s 10 high schools, 20 students were selected. Information: (714) 730-7339.
