The city will hold its first “Bad to the Bones” 5K Run/Walk on July 3 to mark the city’s historical sites. The run and walk, which begin at 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. respectively, will start at City Hall and follow the Aliso Creek Trail past Juan A’vila’s adobe, the Pecten Reef and finally ending at the Ice Age Costeau Pit in Costeau Park. Registration forms must be received by June 25; the fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Starting at 8:30 a.m., there also will be a Family 1 Mile fun run.
