County Players Key Tennis Victory

Tom Lloyd from Esperanza High and Drew Hoskins from Los Alamitos helped the Southern California team beat the Northern California team, 14-6, in the Maze Cup junior tennis competition Sunday at the Bakersfield Racquet Club.

Lloyd won two singles matches, including a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ryan Brown of Santa Rosa, the top-ranked boys’ 18s singles player in Northern California. Hoskins teamed with Jeff Kazarian of Palos Verdes Peninsula High to win in the boys’ 16 doubles, 6-3, 6-4.
