* On June 3 The Times reports that AB 1094, which passed the Assembly, would permit people who can show proof of legal residency in the U.S. to register at the polling place on election day and vote immediately. Included as “proof of residency” is a driver’s license.
On June 4, you report that AB 1463, making it easier for immigrants to get a driver’s license, has passed in the Assembly. Under this bill driver’s license applicants would no longer have to submit proof that they are in the U.S. legally in order to get a driver’s license.
Whaaat?
