Ex-Patient Kills Psychiatrist, Self

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — A gunman opened fire on his former psychiatrist Friday, killing the doctor and another person before fatally shooting himself, authorities said.
Four other people were wounded in the shooting at the office of Dr. Reuven Bar-Levav on the 12th floor of an office building in this Detroit suburb.
The name of the gunman--and the third victim slain, a woman from the Detroit area--was being withheld.
Police Chief Joseph Thomas said, “We are still trying to determine why it happened.”
Southfield Police Det. Darrel Palmer said it was believed the gunman was a former patient of Bar-Levav.
The victim’s daughter, Dr. Leora Bar-Levav, a psychiatrist who practiced with her father, said the gunman was no longer a patient.
